About the Kennedy Trust
As a registered charity The Trust provides sustainable, long-term funding of medical research into rheumatic and related musculoskeletal, immunological and inflammatory diseases.
We are a small funding body founded in 1965, mainly but not exclusively focused on funding the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology at the University of Oxford.
The Kennedy Trust supports the work on rheumatic and musculoskeletal disease of the Institute, a world-class research centre in inflammation sciences, by providing funding to underpin and pump-prime new initiatives.
The Trust also provides funding each year for up to five PhD studentships, advertised through the Institute, as part of its ongoing commitment to bring young researchers into the field.
The Trust’s income is derived from royalties on its intellectual property and an investment portfolio.
We are seeking to extend our financial support to other institutions and programmes in the field of inflammatory diseases where we can make a clear difference.
We are not involved in patient care.
